Terms of service
Last updated April 2026
These terms govern your use of Quiet Route, operated by David O'Sullivan as a sole trader in the United Kingdom. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
If you have any questions, email david@quietroute.io.
The service
Quiet Route generates campervan trip itineraries based on the information you provide. Trip plans include suggested routes, overnight stops, points of interest, and budget estimates.
All suggestions are AI-generated and intended as a starting point for your own planning. They are not verified in real time and may not reflect current availability, pricing, or conditions. Always check independently before relying on any suggestion.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
One account per person. You may not share your account or use it on behalf of others without permission.
Subscription and payment
Quiet Route is available on an annual subscription basis. The annual price is £28/year. If the price rises in future, the new price applies to new subscriptions only: an active subscription continues to renew at the price it was taken out at. Customers who subscribed during the launch period continue to renew at their original price of £14/year. If a subscription lapses and is restarted later, the price current at that time applies.
There are two ways to subscribe, and some of what follows depends on which you used. Subscribe on quietroute.io and you are buying from us. Subscribe in the iPhone app and you are buying from Apple, who take the payment, handle the renewal, and decide any refund. The App Store shows its own price, including any introductory offer, before you buy.
- Payment is taken annually at the start of each billing period
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel a web subscription before the renewal date. Cancel an App Store subscription at least 24 hours before the period ends, which is Apple's requirement rather than ours.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancel a web subscription in your account settings, or an App Store subscription in your Apple Account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period either way.
- On expiry, you retain read-only access to saved trips but cannot generate new ones
- Web payments are processed by Stripe. App Store payments are processed by Apple. Card details are handled by them and do not pass through our servers.
Refunds
If you subscribed on quietroute.io, we offer a 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. If Quiet Route is not what you expected, email david@quietroute.io within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. After the 14-day window, refunds are at our discretion.
If you subscribed in the iPhone app, Apple took the payment and Apple decides refunds. We cannot issue one and we cannot overturn Apple's decision. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com (opens in a new tab) or through Apple Support. The 14-day promise above applies to purchases made on quietroute.io only.
Neither of these affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law. We issue no refund for accounts terminated under the fair use policy.
Acceptable use
You may use Quiet Route for personal trip planning. You may not:
- Use the service for commercial purposes without written permission
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service
- Use automated tools to interact with the service
- Share your account credentials or subscription with others
Fair use
Each trip you generate or regenerate uses third-party AI and mapping services that have a real per-request cost. We keep subscription prices low by spreading that cost across the whole community, and this policy exists to make sure that stays viable.
A generation is counted each time a plan is produced for you: a new trip, a regeneration of an existing one, a re-plan from where you are, or a duplicate. Viewing, editing, hiding stops, swapping stops, adding notes, or sharing a trip does not count as a generation. The limit is 50 generations in a subscription year.
Most users plan a handful of trips a year and will never come close to that limit. If your usage is significantly above the norm, we may get in touch to understand how you are using the service. In most cases this will be a friendly conversation and nothing more.
High usage and abuse are different things. If you are a genuine power user who simply plans a lot of trips, you have nothing to worry about. Usage that suggests account sharing, automated access, or commercial resale is treated differently. Our process is always the same:
- We flag the account internally and review it
- We contact you by email to discuss your usage
- We work together to reach a reasonable resolution
- If abuse continues after contact, we reserve the right to terminate the account, ban the associated email address, and withhold any refund for the current billing period. For App Store purchases, any refund is Apple's to give or refuse.
New trip generation pauses automatically at 50 generations in a subscription year. An account getting close to the limit is flagged for us to look at, and we will normally be in touch before you reach it. Your saved trips stay readable either way.
If you have questions about the policy, email david@quietroute.io.
